Location Address:
Toronto– hybrid – onsite for certain meetings (once a month)

Contract Duration: 10 months with high possibility of Extension

Responsibilities

The Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that regulatory, risk, and governance requirements are fully understood, embedded, and met across enterprise technology programs, with a specific focus on Shared Drives Access Management (SDAM) and associated data protection initiatives. This role acts as the primary liaison between regulatory obligations and project and system delivery, translating regulatory, audit, and policy requirements into clear, actionable business and system requirements.

The Compliance Analyst leads regulatory gap assessments, defines remediation actions, and ensures appropriate evidence is identified, produced, validated, and documented throughout the delivery lifecycle. Operating independently within a regulated financial services environment, the role monitors regulatory changes, advises management on required actions, and partners closely with technology delivery, security, IAM, privacy, data governance, risk, and audit stakeholders to ensure sustained compliance and audit ready outcomes.

The Compliance Analyst supports internal and external audits and regulatory reviews by providing clear traceability from regulation to control to technical implementation and operational execution.

Must Have Skills
  • 8+ years of experience supporting regulatory compliance, audits, and governance within technology or data protection initiatives in a financial services environment. (Demonstrated experience operating independently in compliance driven, regulated environments)
  • Strong ability to interpret and operationalize complex regulatory legislation, policies, and control frameworks.
  • 5+ years of experience maintaining structured compliance documentation, SOPs, requirement registers, and evidence logs (Exceptional written communication skills with a focus on precision, traceability, and audit defensibility)
  • Ability to influence without authority and work effectively across technology, security, and governance teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Experience with tools such as Service Now, SharePoint, and Jira.
  • Education

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Legal Studies, Information Systems, or a related field.

    Best VS. Average Candidate: solid handle on requirements analysis, ability to gather audit requirements and owning their work, solid experience working on regulatory programs.
