Senior User Experience Researcher

As a Senior UX Researcher, you will define and execute user research programs that directly inform product strategy and design decisions. You will work embedded within a core product area, developing subject‑matter expertise while leading exploratory, generative, and tactical research studies.

Responsibilities
  • Determine and recommend the most efficient and effective user‑centered research approaches — qualitative and quantitative — to solve for business needs, meet agreed‑upon objectives, and guide business areas through the appropriate UX process.
  • Lead exploratory and generative research studies, including discovery research that frames the problem space, identifies user needs, and gathers evidence and initial direction to define next steps.
  • Plan, design, and execute tactical research initiatives such as usability testing and concept testing, using moderated and unmoderated methodologies (facilitated sessions, surveys, click tests).
  • Monitor UX project execution, including establishing and tracking relevant UX project metrics and UX product scorecards.
  • Develop foundational UX research artifacts such as user journeys, behavioural archetypes, heuristic guidelines, etc.
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to help drive product and design decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with UX designers, content writers, product teams, development teams, and other stakeholders as part of an agile software development process.
  • Support, partner with, and influence multi‑disciplinary teams — including leadership across product and other business areas — to execute UX projects.
  • Leverage generative AI tools to accelerate and enhance research workflows and processes.
  • Be a self‑starter — take initiative and drive projects from beginning to end with a high degree of independence.
  • Take ownership of self‑development; stay current with emerging research techniques, tools, and AI‑driven practices in the field of UX.
  • Mentor and assist UX researchers as needed.
  • Be a dedicated advocate of a user‑centered, evidence‑based approach to product development, while balancing business needs.
Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree or higher in a field such as Cognitive Psychology, Human‑Computer Interaction, User Experience, Human Factors, Engineering Psychology, Interactive Design, or a related discipline — or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of UX research experience; candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and strong demonstrated industry experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in UX research on B2B SaaS solutions.
  • Experience conducting both exploratory/generative and tactical research, including usability testing and concept testing across moderated and unmoderated formats.
  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research throughout an agile development process.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with comfort planning, prioritizing, conducting, analysing, and communicating research across a variety of contexts and stakeholder levels—including senior leadership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build compelling research narratives and communicate insights effectively to cross‑functional teams and leadership.
  • A curious, hands‑on approach to leveraging generative AI tools to accelerate UX research workflows (applied experience is a strong asset).
  • The ability to operate independently with minimal administrative overhead, while remaining communicative and collaborative with your manager and key stakeholders.
  • Experience with data analytics to inform UX research direction (nice‑to‑have).
  • A portfolio is a nice‑to‑have; all candidates will be expected to walk through at least one strong past project during the interview process.
