Position: QA Automation Lead (8+ Years) to lead automation testing and guide QA team delivery across scripting, execution, and

Our technology-sector client is seeking a QA Automation Lead (8+ Years) to lead automation testing and guide QA team delivery across scripting, execution, and test framework development.

Join a skilled QA team delivering automation solutions within a dynamic technology environment. This role provides hands-on leadership in test design, scripting, and automation framework development while managing QA Engineers and task execution. It offers a strong balance of technical ownership and team direction across multiple project layers, including UI, API, and integration testing.

Contract, Toronto, Onsite (3-4 days per week)

Contract duration: 6 months plus extension

Responsibilities

  • Lead QA engineers to deliver high-quality automated testing solutions
  • Assign, prioritize, and track tasks aligned with project and sprint objectives
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts and frameworks
  • Review test cases, automation scripts, and defect reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to define test strategies and clarify requirements
  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage across UI, API, and integration layers
  • Troubleshoot automation issues and guide resolution within the QA team

    • Must Haves

  • 8+ years in QA automation with strong team leadership and hands-on scripting experience
  • Advanced usage of Selenium and test automation frameworks
  • Proficiency in Java
    , Python
    , or Java Script for automation script development
  • Experience with API testing using tools such as Postman or Rest Assured
  • Background in Agile QA leadership and familiarity with JIRA

    • Nice to Have

  • Strong collaboration experience with development and product teams
  • Exposure to CI/CD environments for automated test execution
  • Automation-first approach to testing strategy
