ROLE: ETL TESTING TORONTO - HYBRID - FULLTIME
ETL testing JD –
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for complex ETL processes and data pipelines.
Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency using advanced SQL queries for data validation and reconciliation.
Develop and maintain robust automated test scripts using Java/JEE for data validation, regression testing, and overall data quality assurance.
Implement API Automation testing strategies for data services and microservices, using tools/frameworks like REST Assured to ensure seamless integration and performance.
Collaborate closely with ETL developers, data engineers, and business analysts in an Agile/Scrum methodology to understand data flows, transformation logic, and functional requirements.
Identify, document, and track defects, issues, and risks using defect management tools such as Jira or Client ALM, and work with development teams for timely resolution.
Participate in the continuous improvement of testing processes and tools, potentially integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or Git Lab.
Create and maintain test data and test environments, ensuring proper configuration for testing activities.
Prepare detailed test summary reports and provide clear communication of testing progress and results to stakeholders.
Required
Qualifications & Skills:
-+ years of hands-on experience in ETL testing and data quality assurance.
Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries , including joins, subqueries, and aggregate functions, for data validation and backend testing.
Hands-on programming experience with Java/JEE for developing and enhancing automation frameworks.
Proven experience in designing and implementing API automation testing strategies.
Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium , TestNG, or Cucumber is a plus.
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts , data modeling (star and snowflake schemas), and ETL processes.
Experience with ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, or SSIS is beneficial.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams in an onsite setting.
