Sr Systems Engineer

Job Title:

Senior Systems Engineer Type of position: 3-months CONTRACTHourly rate / Salary: $38-$42/hr CAD

Toronto Downtown, ONWorking Organization: 5 DAYS ONSITE--Your New Role As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will lead the design, deployment, and management of OT infrastructure across multiple regions. You will be responsible for building consistent, secure, and scalable systems that support a distributed enterprise. This role requires strong technical leadership, cross‑cultural collaboration, and the ability to work effectively across time zones.
1. Infrastructure Design & Management

Design, implement, and maintain resilient IT systems aligned with business and regional needs.

Standardize infrastructure across regions to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.

Manage hybrid environments integrating on‑premises and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, VMware).

2. Collaboration Across Time Zones

Partner with regional IT teams to understand requirements and challenges.

Serve as an escalation point forplex or critical technical issues.

Maintain alignment and clearmunication across globally dispersed teams.

3. Performance Monitoring & Optimization

Monitor system performance across varied network conditions and user profiles.

Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

Ensurepliance with global privacy and security standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

4. Project Leadership

Lead large, multi-region infrastructure initiatives, ensuring consistent delivery across sites.

Drive standardization of tools, processes, and infrastructure practices.

Manage and coordinate technology vendors.

5. Security &pliance

Implement strong security protocols to safeguard organizational systems and data.

Ensurepliance with local and industry regulations across all operating regions.

6. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

Develop and maintain high-quality documentation for systems, processes, and standards.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Bachelor’s degree inputer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.

7+ years in system engineering with at least 3 years in a multi‑region role.

Expertise in enterprise operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V).

Strong cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and hybrid environment management.

Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls).

Knowledge ofernance andpliance frameworks (ITIL, ISO 27001, NIST).

Experience with automation and scripting (Power Shell, Python).

Strong cross-culturalmunication and problem‑solving skills.

Familiarity with backup, DR solutions, and monitoring tools.

Preferred Skills

Relevant certifications: CSEP, MCSE, VMware, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, ITIL.
