Position: Lyft Data Scientist - Optimization & Modeling
Elevate Lyft’s data capabilities as a Data Scientist focused on optimization and predictive modeling. Become part of a dynamic team addressing a variety of complex mathematical issues with cutting-edge data techniques.

This role, reporting to a Science Manager, calls for a Ph.D. in a quantitative field with two or more years of experience in technology companies. You’ll use exploratory data analysis to tackle problems, build statistical models, and collaborate closely with engineering teams to bring algorithms into production. Your findings will drive impactful decisions through experimental data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineers and product teams on problem framing

• Perform exploratory data analyses for comprehensive insights

• Build and fit machine learning models effectively

• Write efficient production modeling code for implementation

• Analyze data from simulations and live experiments for decision making

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline, e.g., Statistics, Mathematics

• 2+ years’ experience in tech roles

• Passionate about non-standard mathematical challenges

• Proficient in Python, R, or Matlab

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
