About The Team
Turo is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our growing Toronto team and turbo‑charge Turo’s growth in Canada. The Senior Data Analyst will work across multiple business verticals, collaborating closely with the leadership team in Canada, Product, Claims Operations, Marketplace Support, and Engineering. The role focuses on driving business performance across the marketplace, including profitability, supply availability, and conversion. The ideal candidate possesses strong quantitative and analytics skills, is a self‑starter comfortable with ambiguity, operates with an ownership mindset, has excellent communication skills, and can quickly understand new topics and areas.
WhatYou Will Do
- Analyze complex data sets to identify opportunities, formulate actionable recommendations, and test these insights.
- Present analysis and recommendations to the Canadian leadership team to address business questions and generate growth.
- Develop a keen understanding of the Canadian business and help optimize profitability in the market.
- Identify opportunities for key business areas such as supply, demand, and conversion through rigorous data analysis, develop implementation plans with stakeholders, and help quantify ROI of initiatives.
- Design and build dashboards to monitor performance metrics; maintain analytics pipelines to ensure highest levels of accuracy in reporting.
- Communicate metrics/KPIs to business leaders, explaining the business reasons for changes in business trends.
- Partner with product, data science, and operations leadership to influence product direction with the goal of improving user experience and profitability.
- Build scalable solutions that facilitate data consumption by different stakeholders.
- 3-5 years of using analytics to drive strategic business decisions; examples include product/data analytics, data science, business intelligence, or strategy consulting; experience in consumer tech, marketplaces or e‑commerce a strong plus.
- Top‑notch quantitative skills; strong proficiency in conducting detailed data analysis and using metrics to drive business results.
- Extensive experience with SQL required; additional experience with BI & visualization tools is a strong plus (e.g., DOMO, Tableau).
- Experience transforming data into presentations that tell the story behind the data.
- Very strong attention to detail; comfortable working with various data sources, identifying inaccuracies and root causes of data issues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex insights.
- Must be comfortable operating independently, driving analysis forward with limited guidance; positive attitude, high integrity, self‑motivation, and a strong work ethic.
For this role, the target base salary range in Toronto is $114,000 - $143,000 CAD annually. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits.
