AI is rewriting the rules of legal practice. CV Labs is the product and growth studio inside Canada Visa, with a large ecosystem including 1.5 million visitors per month, a mature immigration community, and thousands of cases processed annually. We are building an AI-native law firm where lawyers collaborate with engineers to automate workflows, shape the product roadmap, and advance how legal services are delivered and who can access them.
The RoleWe have an AI-powered platform that does most of the heavy lifting on client files (data extraction, cross-validation, auto-filling government forms, flagging edge cases). About 80% of the work is handled before you see a file. Your job is the human judgment layer to review flags, catch what the system cannot, keep clients informed, and ensure every file that goes out is flawless.
When a file is clean, review takes minutes; when not, you identify causes and drive resolution. This is not a traditional case management role. You will work in a purpose-built dashboard alongside an improving AI system and help make it smarter.
- Review files at speed using the AI-powered dashboard; pre-validated documents, inconsistencies identified, forms auto filled; focus on flags and edge cases escalated for human judgment.
- Be the client’s guide: primary in-platform contact, warm, responsive, and clear; answer questions, explain next steps, and keep files moving with a targeted one-day response time.
- Manage volume: carry a high-volume caseload across multiple stages from eligibility review through government submission and beyond; prioritize and triage effectively.
- Escalate with context: bundle complex legal questions with context and hand to attorneys; learn what warrants a flag and what you can resolve yourself.
- Spot automation opportunities: identify repetitive tasks and work with product to streamline and automate where appropriate.
- See files through to completion: track applications from submission to government decision; verify signed documents, manage follow-ups, handle dormant files, and deliver good news when approved.
- Experienced in operations with 1–3 years in operations, client services, or process-intensive roles. Backgrounds at fast-growth companies are valued, but thinking ability is prioritized.
- Detail-obsessed: you catch what others miss (name spellings, dates, check boxes, etc.).
- Strong written communicator: a portion of the role involves warm, clear client messaging and explaining situations in plain language.
- Systems thinker: you design workflows, identify bottlenecks, and prefer repeatable processes even without coding.
- AI-curious: comfortable with AI tools and how they affect work.
- French proficiency is a plus (some client documents are in French).
- No legal or immigration experience required; we will train you on the domain while leveraging your operational instincts.
- Salary: $75,000 – $100,000 CAD
- Vacation:
