Sr. Technical Specialist, Middleware

What is the opportunity?

As a Technical Systems Specialist on the BPM Middleware hosting team, you will work to install and support the Pega Infrastructure within RBC. This team is responsible for supporting the Pega Infrastructure platform deployed on both IBM Web Sphere and Redhat Open Shift Cloud Platform.

• Install and build new Pega environments.
• Upgrade Pega to the latest version to stay current and supported.
• Support and maintain the existing Pega platform to ensure high uptime availability.
• Be part of an on‑call rotation in supporting the Pega platform 24/7.
• Maintain the security of the infrastructure by promptly remediating vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve platform issues promptly.
• Implement security best practices and stay updated on the latest industry trends.
• Create automation to assist with patching and security hardening to stay in compliance.

• Operational support experience of IBM Web Sphere Application Server and IBM HTTPD Server.
• Operational support experience working with cloud‑based deployments for Pega.
• Experience with Ansible Automation Platform and Open Shift.
• Problem experience with devops pipeline deployments.
• Proven experience in Unix Server administration and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Working experience with Git Hub, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm Charts.
• Experience with security scan platforms Tenable and Aqua Security.
• Infrastructure knowledge of troubleshooting DNS, LDAP, networking and databases.
