RQ- Automation Developer - Senior

Responsibilities

• Identifies opportunities for automation within software testing processes.
• Designs and executes QA tests using scripts that automatically test functionality.
• Designs and writes test automation scripts.
• Utilizes test automation frameworks.
• Works with QA analysts and software developers to find solutions.
• Reviews test automation approach improvements.
• Analyzes testing, Dev Ops processes, standards, and best practices and drives necessary improvements.
• Provides technical support to Test Automation tools.
• Participates in Sprint Retrospective to examine current Quality Assurance practices and identify potential improvement opportunities.
• Evaluates test automation tools and processes and provides recommendations to promote best practices.
• Transforms functional, business, and system knowledge into effective test case planning and execution.
• Creates test data according to the test plan; analyzes testing results and retests until expected results are obtained; performs reviews with users and ensures client acceptability levels are met; recommends changes to ensure acceptable testing results; retests all criteria in a live environment and recommends user sign off for implementation.
• Works closely with developers, architects, product owners, and others in establishing effective test plans based on feature documentation.
• Applies QA and technical expertise and engages other expertise to track and resolve testing and production issues with quality deficiencies and maintain client service integrity.
• Ensures that testing automation is under source control, documented, and disaster recovery is in place.

Public Sector Experience

• 5+ years of experience working with federal/provincial/broader public‑sector healthcare providers.
• Knowledge of public sector enterprise architecture artifacts, processes and practices, and ability to produce technical documentation that complies with industry standard practices.
• In‑depth knowledge of industry standards such as PMI and public sector IT project management methodologies.
• Knowledge and experience with public sector health related projects.
• Knowledge and understanding of ministry policy and IT project approval processes and requirements; experience adopting and adhering to public sector unified IT project methodology, public sector enterprise architecture, public sector gating process, and OPS standard systems development methodologies.
• Experience with large complex IT health‑related projects.

QA and Automation & Testing Knowledge and Experience (7+ years)

• Experience in identifying opportunities for automation within software development and testing processes.
• Design, develop, and execute automated QA tests to validate application functionality.
• Design and maintain test automation scripts using established automation frameworks (tools such as Selenium).
• Experience in identifying and documenting bugs and quality issues in development, service, or business processes.
• Experience with installing applications and databases relevant to automation.
• Knowledge and understanding of testing methods in an object‑oriented environment.
• Knowledge and experience working in traditional and agile teams using standard and Dev Ops processes and tools.
• Knowledge and experience using at least one programming language.
• Experience with enterprise‑level performance testing tools involving a structured process of scripting, scenario design, execution, and analysis using tools such as Load Runner.
