Job Description

The Data Designer will partner with business and technology teams to analyze, model, and document data requirements, ensuring accurate, well‑governed data solutions. The role focuses on developing data models, metadata, and data lineage while supporting data quality, integration, and compliance with enterprise standards. This position contributes to data design, validation, and continuous improvement across analytics and data platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and promote data models using industry standard modeling tools.
  • Assess business requirements by researching, analyzing, and documenting business data requirements.
  • Define, build, and manage data dictionary/catalog for respective data platforms, systems, and applications.
  • Ensure metadata and data lineage is captured and compatible with enterprise metadata and data management tools and processes.
  • Run quality assurance reports and resolve data integrity issues to ensure accurate reporting and data records.
  • Analyze data issues and work with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Gather, review, analyze, profile, validate, and map system data into the prototyping solution for further integration within the data warehouse.
  • Ensure reporting and analytical business needs are met.
  • Ensure business data and information is retained and disposed in compliance with enterprise data standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Participate in and help implement continuous process improvements.
  • Keep updated on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with technology and business teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of data solutions.
  • Facilitate data analysis and investigations for business users and QA teams, assisting with data issues and validating business cases during development and testing phases.
  • Provide support on business impact post‑implementation, ensuring the data solution meets the intended business outcomes during the warranty period.
  • Coordinate business requirements with technical teams to ensure smooth integration of data into source code repositories and promote effective source code management practices.
  • Be an active participant in business and technical design reviews, ensuring that data architectures meet both operational and business objectives.
  • Understand data governance and data management initiatives to ensure business requirements align with enterprise data governance policies.
  • Ensure business metadata and data lineage are well‑documented and integrated with enterprise metadata management tools, facilitating better business understanding.
  • Stay current on industry trends, growing knowledge of business processes, data tools, and best practices.
  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork, and ensure timely communication of issues and points of interest.
  • Keep current on emerging trends and developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools, and techniques.
  • Keep others informed and up‑to‑date about the status or progress of projects.
  • Contribute to the success of the team by willingly assisting others in the completion and performance of work activities; provide training, coaching, and/or guidance as appropriate.
  • Contribute to a fair, positive, and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally.
Experience and Education
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and hands‑on experience on ADB.
  • Strong SQL knowledge to build complex and nested queries.
  • Data modeling experience with knowledge of different data modeling schemas;
    Star Schema & Snowflake schema.
  • Experience working with very large datasets and familiarity with big data technologies.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction on multiple projects and priorities.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools such as Power

    BI.
  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate in engineering, computer science or related fields.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience from a business administration, statistical, mathematical, scientific or financial background.

Generally reports to a Senior / Manager role.
