What is the opportunity?
As an AI Security Platform Engineer (Global Security), you will design, build, and integrate the backend security infrastructure protecting RBC's rapidly growing AI ecosystem — spanning hundreds of AI agents, MCP servers, LLM gateways, and agentic workflows across the bank.
Job DescriptionYou will deliver production‑grade capabilities in AI Security Posture Management (AI SPM), Shadow AI Discovery, and AI Security Guardrails — providing comprehensive visibility into the enterprise AI footprint and enforcing security controls across the AI lifecycle. This hands‑on engineering role focuses on building the security foundation through robust backend services: embedding security into CI/CD pipelines, developing APIs and integrations with AI platform gateways, and connecting security tooling to the broader Cyber ecosystem.
You will ship production code, own service reliability on Kubernetes, partner with AI platform and Dev Ops teams, and directly shape how the bank secures its rapidly growing AI footprint — accelerating regulatory readiness and setting new standards for AI security at scale.
- Own the availability, reliability, and performance of security services running on Kubernetes
- Design and build AI security products including AI Security Guardrails, AI Security Posture Management, and Shadow AI Discovery
- Build and maintain APIs, connectors, and data pipelines that integrate with enterprise gateways and the Cyber ecosystem
- Integrate AI security tools into CI/CD deployment pipelines with automated security benchmarks and testing frameworks
- Build strong partnerships with AI platform teams, Dev Ops, IAM, and Security Architecture
Must‑have
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- 6+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong, production‑level coding proficiency in Python
- Experience building containerized services using Kubernetes or Open Shift
- Experience designing and building REST APIs, data connectors, and integration pipelines
- Experience defining and implementing infrastructure and application pipelines
- Ability to deliver robust, production‑ready AI security solutions and platforms, drive continuous improvement, advocate for safety and privacy‑by‑design, and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders
Nice‑to‑have
- Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks (Lang Chain, Lang Graph) and AI observability tooling (Langfuse, Lang Smith) or similar agentic AI development stacks
- Experience with security scanning and SAST/DAST tools (Semgrep, Snyk, Sonar Qube), Vault/KMS, or AI security evaluation tools
- Stay up to date with new and evolving AI security threats and mechanisms for defending against those threats
- Experience with dual‑cloud or hybrid environments and modern observability stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, Open Telemetry)
- A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock where applicable
- Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities
- Ability to make a difference and lasting impact
- Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high‑performing team
- Flexible work/life balance options
- Opportunities to do challenging work
- Opportunities to take on progressively greater accountabilities
