Our financial services client is seeking a Data and Reporting Analyst (3–5 years) to execute and optimize data operations using SQL, Python, and Excel workflows
Duration:
Until January 29th (possibility of extension or conversion)
Location:
Downtown Toronto - Hybrid (3 days mandatory in office
-Tuesdays mandatory and other days flex - subject to change based on business needs)
Join a procurement analytics team supporting data operations within a major banking environment. The role focuses on maintaining routine data workflows, running automated Python scripts, and managing dashboards and data refresh requests. This position provides visibility across data governance and analytics initiatives, offering the chance to contribute to documentation, training materials, and process improvement tasks. Candidates demonstrating strong performance may be considered for a future full-time opportunity.
Must Haves
3–5 years in data and reporting analytics within structured environmentsProficiency with SQL and Python (Pandas) for query execution and data processing scriptsExperience using Git for version control and collaborationStrong command of Excel for data manipulation, validation, and workflow operationsBachelor’s degree in Technology, Computing, Data & Analytics, Business, or EngineeringHigh attention to detail when working with large, complex datasetsAbility to troubleshoot data issues and identify root causes within defined processesStrong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple incoming requests and prioritiesEffective written and verbal communication skills; able to engage with both technical and business stakeholdersWillingness to learn and contribute across data analytics and data governance functionsAbility to follow structured processes while identifying opportunities for incremental improvementsWell-developed communication and interpersonal skillsNice to Have
Experience using Microsoft low-code platforms such as Power Automate, Power Apps, and Share Point Responsibilities
Execute recurring data workflows, including running Python scripts and maintaining Excel-based processes to refresh and curate datasetsMonitor and manage the team’s shared inbox, triaging and responding to incoming requests in a timely mannerFulfill operational data requests, such as dashboard setup, data refreshes, and ad-hoc data pullsPerform data validation and quality checks, troubleshooting issues and escalating where appropriateSupport the maintenance and improvement of process documentation and user guidesAssist in the creation of process manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs)Collaborate with the Data Governance team to support data management practicesTrack and manage assigned tasks to ensure completion within defined timelines and schedulesContribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Procurement Analytics functionProvide general operational support as needed; perform other duties as assigned.
