JOB DESCRIPTION
Location:
Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto Duration: 6 Months Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for an ETL Developer - GCP, Python, Big Query to design and implement scalable data architectures, analytical models, and cloud‑native data platforms. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in role Develop, deploy, and maintain large‑scale ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and streaming data processing.
Build and manage orchestration workflows.
Optimize data storage, query performance, and processing efficiency.
Enable reporting, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions using modern visualization platforms.
Support Dev Ops and CI/CD practices for data platforms, including containerization and cloud deployment workflows.
Contribute to AI and machine learning data workflows, including preparation of training‑ready datasets and prompt‑enabled prototyping.
Ensure data quality, governance, and metadata management standards are met.
Must Have Skills
10+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development and analytics delivery
Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform Strong proficiency in Python scripting
Experience working with Big Query Experience with Cloud Composer/Apache Airflow Nice-To-Have Skills Experience in database development
Experience with Microsoft Azure Proficiency in Java, Scala, SQL Experience with Dataflow, Dataproc, DBT, Databricks Soft Skills Required Good communication skills

Strong analytical skills
Education
Post Secondary in technical/relevant field
