Opportunity

The IT and Systems area at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy (LDFP) plays a key role in supporting the Faculty’s academic mission. The LDFP IT and Systems team maintains the technology infrastructure vital to administrative staff, students, instructors, and researchers, and provides high‑quality client and educational technology support services. Work in the LDFP IT and Systems area is varied and evolves alongside client needs and the ever‑changing technology landscape.

The IT and Systems team is a collaborative and resourceful group that at every turn prioritizes privacy and information security.

Reporting to the Director, Information, Systems and Learning Technology, the M365 Solutions Specialist is a new role at LDFP responsible for developing and maintaining modern, optimized workflows within the University of Toronto’s Microsoft 365 ecosystem. As LDFP’s in‑house M365 and programming expert, the Specialist’s activities include advising clients on the adoption of M365 resources and developing Power Platform solutions for business processes of varying complexity and scope—from non‑production one‑off Flows to mission‑critical production Power Apps.

The M365 Solutions Specialist role provides an opportunity to hone existing M365 competencies and acquire new ones, all in the service of developing user‑friendly and efficient solutions for LDFP clients.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Collecting information from clients to assess IT needs
  • Analyzing user needs and business processes to create programming solutions
  • Conducting detailed analysis of technical specifications in preparation for project planning
  • Designing, testing, and modifying programming code
  • Collaborating on cost estimates
  • Analyzing and developing program scripts to extract, reformat and analyze data
  • Developing technical application implementation plans
  • Creating complex and technical documentation and user support guides
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum four years of experience with M365 development and administration, ideally in a higher‑education or health‑care environment
  • Strong understanding of the M365 suite, including SharePoint, Teams, and Office applications
  • Proven experience with Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
  • Knowledge of related technologies such as SQL server, MS Windows Server, Azure, OData, and RESTful APIs
  • Demonstrated development experience, with the ability to do custom development for M365 products
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for both highly‑technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of working effectively with diverse clients, including staff, faculty, and students
  • Ability to work well as a team member and as a strong individual contributor

  • Work experience in a university, government, or healthcare setting would be considered an asset
