What you’ll be doing

As a member of the Enterprise Capabilities and Organizational Agility team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we deliver value at CIBC by championing agile principles and practices. As an Agile Coach, you’ll empower leaders and teams through guidance and mentorship, fostering a culture rooted in agility, continuous improvement, and client‑centricity. You’ll work to address organizational challenges and drive meaningful change, accelerating business agility and the achievement of strategic objectives.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1‑3 days per week on‑site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed
  • Coach and Empower Teams – Provide expert coaching and mentorship to Squads, Crews, and senior stakeholders on advanced agile principles and practices. Influence leaders to build empowered, high‑performing teams and embed agile mindsets across the organization.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement – Advocate for data‑driven decision‑making, prioritization frameworks, and ongoing refinement of processes to achieve sustained enhancements in agile delivery and business outcomes.
  • Remove Barriers and Foster Collaboration – Identify and address systemic challenges that hinder business agility and effective delivery. Promote cross‑functional collaboration to enhance agile capabilities and support enterprise‑wide scalability.
  • Partner and collaborate – Work closely with leadership, stakeholders, and Product Owners to drive culture change, embed agility, and improve delivery of valuable outcomes. This includes supporting them to manage roadmaps, create resource plans, and facilitate agile ceremonies. Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external partners to advance agile adoption.
Who you are
  • Agile/Adaptable – You embrace and advocate for change. You continuously evolve your thinking and the way you work in order to deliver your best.
  • Technical skills – You have deep expertise in agile coaching, organizational change, and business agility, with a demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders, as well as advanced facilitation, mentoring, and advisory skills. You possess proven experience with agile techniques and frameworks such as User Stories, Sprints, Continuous Integration, and Testing, as well as other agile approaches including XP, Kanban, and Design Thinking.

    You are skilled at introducing these practices to the appropriate teams at the optimal time. You are experienced with agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Certified Professional – It would be an asset if you hold certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or PMI‑ACP highlighting your expertise and commitment to agile coaching.
  • You give meaning to data – You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.
