About the Role
Join our Development Platforms portfolio as a Dev Ops II (Support & Operations). In this role, you will provide reliable production support for all our products and services, ensuring that critical platforms run smoothly by responding to incidents, improving observability, supporting CI/CD operations, and contributing to defect fixes in Java-based applications.
Responsibilities- Handle production incidents end-to-end, including triage, severity assessment, escalation, stakeholder communication, and documentation.
- Implement and test low to moderately complex code changes to fix defects in Java-based applications.
- Use monitoring and logging basics to accelerate troubleshooting and contribute to root cause analysis (RCA).
- Support cloud-based environments and gain exposure to providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Work with Kubernetes basics and container fundamentals (Docker/containers).
- Support CI/CD operations: read pipeline logs, rerun jobs, and assist with Git/Jenkins workflows.
- Apply security fundamentals, including policies/roles, secrets management, encryption, firewall/WAF concepts, and audit trails.
- Follow governance and compliance practices related to data classification and PII handling.
- Contribute to proof‑of‑concept (PoC) activities for vendor selection, including scope definition, success criteria, recommendation, and documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with teammates, communicate clearly, and remain calm and structured during high‑severity events.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years of overall experience, ideally in operations, support, Dev Ops, or software engineering.
- Expert‑level experience with Java applications (implementing and testing defect fixes).
- Familiarity with monitoring/logging concepts and incident‑management practices.
- Exposure to cloud concepts and at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Foundational knowledge of Kubernetes and containers (Docker).
- CI/CD fundamentals:
Git, Jenkins, with the ability to interpret pipeline results and logs. - Awareness of security and compliance basics, including secrets, access controls, encryption, auditability, and PII/data handling.
- Strong soft skills: clear communication, teamwork, good documentation habits, and composure under pressure.
- Relevant technology certifications are an asset.
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required.
