Benefits and Compensation

Salary range: 128,300 – 156,800 (based on a 35‑hour workweek). Annual bonus target: up to 15% of base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target, subject to personal and company performance. Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) – Intact matches 50% of net shares.

We are looking for a Manager, Software Development to join our growing team.

• Develop productive and engaged software development teams, fostering personal and technical skills and collaboration.
• Manage projects by understanding business partner strategies, priorities and challenges.
• Assess capabilities to devise appropriate solutions and deliver expected value.
• Manage stakeholders and maintain valuable relationships with internal and external collaborators.
• Divide the project into achievable tasks and establish functional organization charts with roles and responsibilities.
• Develop and keep strategic requests up to date by identifying deliverables and dependencies, estimating durations and associated costs, and helping to assign resources.
• Build, direct, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams—Project Managers, Coordinators, Scrum Masters, PCOs—in direct/indirect supervision mode.
• Write comprehensive project reports (progress, issues, costs, closing, etc.) while respecting key performance indicators.
• Lead project risk management.
• Effectively manage project delivery.
• Maintain dashboards periodically throughout programs and projects.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and technology innovation, identifying opportunities and suggesting solutions.
• Collaborate with other Software Engineering Managers and Project Managers to ensure all initiatives are appropriately staffed, balancing business needs with individual experience and career aspirations.
• Anticipate problems and difficult situations, taking necessary measures to resolve them.
• Manage ongoing relationships and expectations of stakeholders and senior management.
• Maintain a strong business focus with understanding of Intact’s current and strategic direction.
• Drive continuous improvement, evolving agile practices based on learning throughout the end-to-end development lifecycle.
• Master all facets of software development and remain on the lookout for new technologies, questioning the status quo.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
• Solid understanding and experience with web application technologies (Java, JavaScript, Angular, Application Frameworks, CSS, HTML, REST, JSON).
• Experience in continuous delivery management.
• Experience with object-oriented development and software debugging.
• Experience in change management and transformation within a project/program context.
• Experience managing teams.
• Experience in project management competencies including planning, budget and timeline management, scope management, risk management, timely decision-making, and effective team building.
• Leadership skills.
• French language proficiency an asset; for candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required to interact regularly with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
• Eligible to work in Canada (no Canadian work experience required).
