At Rakuten Kobo, we are on the lookout for a dedicated Database Engineer who can bring innovative solutions to our database engineering team. This role will involve not only developing scalable database systems but also automating administrative tasks and ensuring data security. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to meet business objectives while addressing complex database issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-performance database systems for ecommerce

• Monitor and enhance database performance and user access security

• Establish and maintain disaster recovery and backup solutions

• Automate database administrative tasks for improved efficiency

• Provide technical mentorship to junior team members
Requirements:

• 6+ years in database engineering and automation experience

• Strong proficiency in SQL and No

SQL databases

• Knowledge of data governance regulations like GDPR and CCPA

• Development experience in Python, Bash, or Power Shell

• Familiar with container technologies and IaC tools
