Position: Lead Data Scientist AML at Mastercard
Drive machine learning innovation as a Lead Data Scientist in Financial Crime used on detecting transaction anomalies, this hybrid role is based in Toronto and blends data science and payments expertise.

In your role, you will design and enhance AML models to combat money laundering through transaction data analysis. Collaborating with senior data science leadership, you’ll own projects from inception to production improvement. Expect to work autonomously while aligning with technical directives and focusing on implementing cutting-edge solutions in fraud and related areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead AML model development for anomalous transaction detection

• Own end-to-end project execution and prototyping

• Collaborate with senior leaders to influence technical direction

• Analyze payments data to uncover illicit activity patterns

• Partner with Engineering and Product teams for effective deployment

Requirements:

• Strong Python skills with experience in data science libraries

• Proven track record in deploying machine learning models

• Familiarity with distributed data platforms like Databricks

• Ability to work with high-dimensional transactional data

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant quantitative field
