Network Specialist

Location :
Toronto, ON (Need to go 4 days in week onsite)

What program/technology/software knowledge is essential for this role

For the most part, the contractor will be performing risk assessment for firewall rule requests and supporting audit/regulatory engagements. For this, the following knowledge is required:

• Cybersecurity/Network Security concepts to assess firewall rule requirements (e.g., firewall technologies, IP addressing, ports and protocols, etc.).
• IT Risk management knowledge to formulate detailed risk assessment communication for stakeholders/business units.
• Experience with Audit/regulatory engagements such as evidence collection, audit issue management, tracking and reporting, etc.

Must Have skills :

• Certification in at least one of the firewall platforms and intermediate working experience with the following network and Security appliances/vendors:
  Firewalls (Check Point, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA) and/or certifications like CCNA, Security+.
• In depth and current technical knowledge of IP internetworking and the security exposures and mitigating designs and process associated with them.
• Strong understanding of security exposures and mitigating designs, including intermediate experience with the use of Firewall Management platform Algosec
  .
• Excellent understanding of the OSI model and protocols such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, Telnet, SSH, TCP/IP.
• University or College Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent 3+ years of experience as a Network Security Analyst
