Job Description

Join RBC’s HYCiO Governance team as a Senior Lead, Metrics Design & Reporting Specialist, Splunk — a pivotal role driving enterprise governance through data and analytics. You’ll architect our metrics framework, designing and operationalizing KPIs, KRIs, and KCIs that enable data‑informed decision‑making and strengthen risk management across the organization. Blending deep technical expertise with cross‑functional leadership, you’ll design end‑to‑end analytics solutions, and influence governance strategy across our organization.

What

will you do?
  • Establish and operationalize KPIs, KRIs, and KCIs that align with strategic business objectives and enable continuous performance monitoring
  • Monitor key metrics and risk indicators in real time, partnering with technical teams to maintain performance within defined thresholds
  • Translate data insights into actionable recommendations that drive measurable business improvements
  • Apply advanced statistical and analytical techniques to extract value from structured and unstructured data sources
  • Design interactive dashboards and reports using modern visualization tools to support informed decision‑making
  • Identify and interpret trends and patterns within complex data environments to uncover business opportunities and risks
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to build scalable, future‑proof analytics solutions
  • Deliver end‑to‑end analytics solutions that anticipate and address evolving business requirements
  • Ensure all solutions meet enterprise standards for robustness, maintainability, and scalability
What do you need to succeed? Must Have
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences (leadership, engineering, risk, compliance)
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to non‑technical stakeholders through both written and verbal channels
  • Present data‑driven analysis in a way that drives informed decision‑making across organizational levels
  • Apply critical thinking to analyze ambiguous, multi‑faceted technical challenges and decompose them into structured, actionable solutions
  • Extract meaningful, data‑driven insights and recommendations from large, complex datasets
  • Design dashboards and reports that translate data into compelling, decision‑enabling narratives
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise visualization and reporting tools (Splunk, ELK, Tableau, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (SPL, Python, Scala, Java, or equivalent) with ability to write clean, maintainable code
  • Solid foundation in relational database design, querying, and optimization
  • Experience with No

    SQL data stores and understanding of appropriate use cases
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (Apache Airflow, Prefect, or equivalent) for automation and data pipeline management
Nice to have
  • Background in large enterprise organizations, particularly in Financial Services or Regulated Industries
  • Familiarity with financial services operations, compliance requirements, or risk management practices
  • Exposure to internal audit processes, external regulatory examinations, or compliance assessments
  • Understanding of cloud security, scalability, and cost optimization principles
  • Knowledge of industry control frameworks (CIS Controls, CSA, NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0, OSFI B‑13, or equivalent)
  • Experience translating framework requirements into technical controls and measurable metrics
  • Understanding of how data and analytics support audit and compliance functions
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field
  • Equivalent professional experience demonstrating mastery of core competencies (certifications, proven track record)
