• Must‑Haves
  • 10+ years of experience leading and conducting business and system analysis to assess clients’ business problems/opportunities and document the business/system requirements for IT solutions.
  • Proven experience in both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies; demonstrated experience writing user stories and using tools such as Azure Dev Ops.
  • Proven experience conducting business and system analysis for data marts, data warehouses, data lake houses, and Business Intelligence/Data Analytics and Reporting solutions.
  • Proven experience with Dynamics 365 CE and/or F&O solutions.
  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI.

  • Basic knowledge of SQL and ability to execute SQL queries.
  • Understanding of ETL, data quality, data cleaning, and data issue handling concepts.

The Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) requires a Senior Business Analyst to assist with report development for the data warehouse/lakehouse and associated data migration activities.

• Lead and conduct business and system analysis for building the golden layer of the data lakehouse and modernized reports in Power BI.
• Define the reporting MVP, document legacy reports within MVP scope, conduct gap analysis and provide recommendations.
• Document report requirements in user stories in Azure Dev Ops.
• Conduct analysis at varying levels of detail appropriate to project phases, aligning with OPS standards.
• Act as liaison between Business Areas and the data migration and reporting team to clarify business requirements and translate them into system and reporting requirements.
• Perform business modeling; use case modeling; conceptual and logical data modeling; process and data flow modeling; business rules definition; and non‑functional requirements definition for assigned projects including report requirements, screen specifications, business rules, data migration requirements, etc.
• Produce and update documentation to support future maintenance of implemented solutions.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues, define test cases, perform data reconciliation, and address issues or discrepancies during the testing phase; develop KPIs to report on progress, completeness, and quality of reporting and data migration.
• Provide post‑migration support, analyze and address data‑related issues or questions, and help optimize data management processes.
• Complete work and achieve milestones within assigned deadlines.
• Notify the Cluster/Ministry Project Manager in writing of any issues or material concerns related to deliverables as soon as they arise.
• Submit deliverables for Cluster/Ministry approval upon completion.
• Comply with Ontario Government and Cluster/Ministry security procedures and practices.
• Comply with Ontario Government and Cluster/Ministry architecture/technology standards and best practices.
• Comply with Ontario Government and Cluster/Ministry Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality Guidelines.
