Overview

Cella by Randstad Digital is seeking a talented and passionate Intermediate UX Designer to join a team of top design talent dedicated to creating industry-leading, customer-centric experiences. As a strong advocate for the user, you will be formally trained in design and driven by innovation, obsessing over details and iterating until the solution is right. You are a storyteller who is comfortable presenting to stakeholders and challenging traditional thinking to keep the customer at the center of every touchpoint.

In this role, you will apply User-Centered Design methodologies to transform complex business problems into elegant, intuitive digital experiences. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and planning future-state cross-channel experiences while maintaining a keen eye for detail. This role requires a blend of creative vision and analytical logic, ensuring that every design choice is rooted in a deep understanding of user needs and project goals.

This is a contract that will run until November 2026, with potential to extend to a total duration of 1 year. The client is based in downtown Toronto, and the role requires the UX Designer to work at their office on a hybrid basis, 4 days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Concept & Innovation:
    Lead ideation and experience innovation, translating conceptual ideas into compelling customer journeys.
  • Design Artifacts:
    Create high-quality sketches, wireframes, specifications, prototypes, scenarios, and storyboards to communicate design intent.
  • Execution & Visualization:
    Design personalized dashboards and data visualizations that turn complex datasets into clear, meaningful, aesthetically compelling visual stories.
  • Collaboration:

    Partner closely with development teams to ensure design integrity is maintained during implementation.
  • User Advocacy:
    Act as the voice of the user throughout the entire project lifecycle, integrating feedback and advocating for best practices.
  • Research & Trends:
    Stay current on design methodologies and trends; participate in observational studies, usability testing, and other customer research.
  • Communication:
    Effectively communicate design approaches and rationales to diverse audiences, integrating feedback constructively.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a UX Designer, with a portfolio demonstrating user‑centric problem‑solving.
  • Degree in Design or a related discipline (Human‑Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Design Strategy, etc.).
  • Mastery of Figma is essential; expertise in Axure and Adobe Creative Suite is also required.
  • Expertise using AI‑driven tools to generate or transform design assets.
  • Proven ability to simplify complicated flows and design adaptive interfaces based on user roles and behaviors.
  • Experience with in the Financial Services (FI) industry.
  • Direct experience in observational studies and usability testing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a multi‑tasking environment.

This role is based in downtown Toronto and follows a hybrid schedule of 4 days onsite per week. The role will expire upon contract completion in November 2026.
