About The Opportunity

As a Junior Data Engineer, you’ll help build and maintain data solutions that power business analytics and drive impactful decisions. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines for transforming and loading data into analytics and integration systems
  • Support the enhancement of data processing performance under guidance from senior engineers
  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve issues related to data pipelines and transformations
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Apply security best practices when designing and implementing data solutions
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and identify root causes
  • Follow established development standards to deliver high‑quality solutions
  • Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation
  • Collaborate with senior team members to learn and apply modern data‑engineering techniques
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and accessible work environment where all Flighties feel welcomed, respected, and supported to thrive
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned
Experience & Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in data engineering or a related field
  • Experience building or maintaining data pipelines
  • Understanding of data architecture concepts (e.g., lakehouse)
  • Basic proficiency in Python; familiarity with PySpark is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools
  • SQL Server database development experience
  • Experience working with Azure Data Lake and Blob Storage
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Awareness of data security standards (e.g., PCI, GDPR, ISO) preferred
  • Interest in travel‑related data; prior exposure is an asset
