As a strategic product owner with a strong understanding of business analysis, product management, and software development cycles, the APM partners with leadership to define and execute the long-term product vision. Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Roadmap Planning
Champion a deep understanding of merchandising customers (associates, merchants, and customers) and their needs through research, data analysis, and proactive stakeholder engagement.
Lead competitive and market research to identify and integrate best-in-class merchandising and retail technology practices into the product strategy.
Define and own product goals, success metrics, and measures of value; leverage data to drive critical product decisions and justify technology investments.
Drive roadmap planning by defining strategic inputs, managing complex dependencies, and securing alignment across cross-functional partners.
Delivery Management and Execution
Lead the execution of merchandising product initiatives from ideation through delivery, directing the focus of agile scrum teams.
Own the assessment of complex trade-offs, dependencies, risks, and value associated with features to ensure optimal return on investment (ROI) for the business.
Drive the creation, refinement, and prioritization of user stories and epics within the product backlog.
Actively guide and participate in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives) to ensure continuous delivery of value.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, non-technical language to influence and align business partners.
Manage and oversee product rollouts, comprehensive process documentation, and change management strategies to ensure successful adoption.
Direct testing activities, including defining test cases and validating user acceptance testing (UAT).

Lead cross-functional collaboration with Technology, UX, Data, and Merchandising teams, ensuring engineering solutions directly solve business and user needs.
Authoritatively communicate product roadmaps, updates, risks, and progress to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
Continuously build product management skills through feedback, coaching, and learning opportunities.
