Position OverviewThe successful candidate will provide strategic architecture leadership, design secure and scalable cloud solutions, and collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and healthcare partners to deliver highly available, mission‑critical applications.
This is a senior technical leadership role requiring extensive experience in enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, healthcare integration, and large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the architecture, design, and modernization of enterprise technology platforms supporting Ontario Health solutions.
- Develop and maintain enterprise technology roadmaps, technical strategies, and integrated solution architectures.
- Design secure, resilient, scalable, and cost‑optimized cloud solutions using AWS and Azure Well‑Architected Framework principles.
- Design and implement high‑availability architectures, disaster recovery strategies, and business continuity solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, developers, infrastructure teams, and external vendors to deliver integrated technology solutions.
- Define application, infrastructure, cloud, mobile, software, hardware, and network architecture requirements.
- Design and oversee API integrations, Oracle Golden Gate replication, ETL solutions, and enterprise data integration frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership throughout solution design, development, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Lead architecture reviews, risk assessments, and technology governance activities while ensuring compliance with Ontario Government and Ontario Health standards.
- Develop technical documentation including architecture diagrams, solution designs, implementation strategies, operational procedures, and executive presentations.
- Mentor technical teams, oversee vendor deliverables, and provide architectural guidance throughout project delivery.
- Participate in solution planning, project estimation, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Technology Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Solution Architect.
- Extensive experience designing enterprise solutions using AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of AWS and Azure Well‑Architected Frameworks.
- Proven experience designing highly available, secure, resilient, and scalable enterprise applications.
- Hands‑on experience with Amazon RDS (Oracle Multi‑AZ), Oracle databases, backup and recovery strategies, and Oracle Golden Gate.
- Experience designing enterprise integration solutions using APIs, ETL pipelines, and modern web technologies.
- Strong knowledge of IBM Web Sphere application environments.
- Experience designing cloud‑native, hybrid cloud, Platform‑as‑a‑Service (PaaS), and Container‑as‑a‑Service (CaaS) solutions.
- Experience implementing PKI, Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA), and Single Sign‑On (SSO) solutions.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and enterprise software development lifecycle.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working within Canadian Public Sector or Healthcare environments.
- Strong understanding of Ontario Health architecture, standards, and digital health initiatives.
- Experience implementing healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 FHIR (mandatory), HL7 v2, HL7 v3, CDA, and IHE.
- Knowledge of healthcare terminology standards such as SNOMED CT and LOINC.
- Experience with healthcare integration, enterprise registries, and digital health platforms is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with GO-ITS standards, Ontario Health architecture frameworks, and government technology governance.
- Experience with in Ontario Health, eHealth Ontario, Public Health Ontario, or other healthcare organizations.
- Knowledge of healthcare registries, interoperability frameworks, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience leading large‑scale cloud transformation and modernization initiatives.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
