Director Data Transformation
RBC Operations and Strategy, Caribbean Banking team is hiring a Director, Data Transformation. The successful candidate will lead the strategy development, transformation and integration of data structures to optimize new technology capabilities and data environments that support the transformational use of data across Caribbean Banking. This role includes establishing and governing a Data Management and Governance function focused on improving data quality and protecting sensitive data through modifications to organizational behavior policies and standards, governance principles, processes, metrics, tools, and data architecture.
Responsibilities- Develop and drive the overall data management and analytics strategy, creating a multi‑year roadmap that transforms how data is captured, governed, and utilized.
- Understand current data environments and define a target data management and architecture strategy that supports business objectives and improves decision‑making for new and existing product delivery while driving process improvements.
- Lead the development, delivery, and execution of key strategic priorities to enable data management access with partners across Caribbean Banking and the Enterprise Product Analytics team.
- Lead the strategy for standing up and governing the Caribbean Banking data management strategy, including methods and processes for cleansing data across the bank.
- Act as the Data Ecosystem Guardian and subject‑matter advisor on data ecosystem compliance initiatives (e.g., data warehouse/data lake development, data security).
- Provide strategic thought leadership in developing the governance framework for managing and monitoring data risk initiatives, and lead execution of the Data Risk Governance program.
- Tailor and embed learnings and results from data transformational programs into data management practices.
- Provide comprehensive oversight and leadership to support improved operational and decision‑making capabilities, new business creation, and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or IT.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of data environments, including the Data Warehouse Environment (DWE), Enterprise Data Lake (EDL), and Cloud.
- Strong technical acumen to guide data strategy within DWE and EDL contexts.
- Proficiency with information technology systems, applications, and data ecosystems, and ability to collaborate with IT and vendors.
- Knowledge of regulatory, legislative, and data privacy policies.
- Understanding of RBC Risk Framework, especially regulatory, legal, reputational, and operational risks.
