About the TeamThe Risk Reporting team supports retail credit risk reporting, regulatory reporting, data validation, and system testing initiatives. The team provides reporting and analytics used by business stakeholders, executives, and regulators.
Job SummaryOur client is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support a high‑profile enterprise system migration within the Retail Credit Risk Reporting team. The project involves transitioning from a legacy mortgage origination platform to a new FICO‑based system and conducting parallel testing to ensure reporting accuracy and data integrity throughout the transition. The role focuses on SQL, UAT, data validation, and stakeholder collaboration – not report development or distribution.
Responsibilities- Support parallel testing between legacy and new mortgage origination systems.
- Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across multiple systems and reporting layers.
- Investigate data discrepancies and perform root‑cause analysis for issues originating from source systems, ETL processes, data feeds, or reporting outputs.
- Review mapping documentation and data‑lineage artifacts to understand end‑to‑end data movement.
- Translate business and functional logic into SQL queries to analyze and validate data.
- Execute complex SQL queries, including window functions, to trace data sources and confirm expected results.
- Work closely with reporting, data, ETL, and project teams to resolve defects and data quality issues.
- Escalate findings to upstream project teams and participate in issue‑resolution discussions.
- Document testing results, analysis findings, risks, and recommendations.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and provide insights into data inconsistencies, system behavior, and testing outcomes.
- Support UAT activities and ensure reporting outputs remain accurate throughout the system migration.
- Analyze impacts of system changes on risk, operational, and regulatory reporting outputs.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout the migration lifecycle.
- 8+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Business Analysis, Reporting Analysis, or related fields.
- Advanced SQL expertise with frequent daily use.
- Strong understanding of SQL window functions.
- Experience performing UAT and system testing activities.
- Experience analyzing data lineage, data flows, and mapping documentation.
- Strong root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Data validation and reconciliation experience across multiple systems.
- General reporting and analytics experience.
- Experience working with stakeholders across business and technology teams.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Banking or financial services experience.
- Retail Credit Risk experience.
- Mortgage or lending domain knowledge.
- Regulatory reporting experience.
- Cognos experience.
- Business Analysis experience.
- Experience supporting large‑scale data migrations or system conversion initiatives.
