Senior Manager, Clearing Technology Services.

Job Location:

Hybrid (2–3 days in office) – Toronto, ON.

• Serve as the SQL Server Subject Matter Expert (SME) to resolve complex database issues, leading root‑cause analysis and collaborating across engineering teams.
• Identify, install, and configure database software and hardware requirements to build highly stable, modern, and high‑performing database systems.
• Lead efforts to design and improve automated monitoring for database health and availability, analyzing performance metrics to recommend and execute tuning strategies across configuration, storage, and application SQL queries.
• Oversee routine backup audits, conduct test restores to validate data integrity, and participate in scheduled Disaster Recovery exercises.
• Enforce database engineering standards and partner with Development Squads and software vendors to design, review, and deploy database schema changes.
• Deliver Level2 escalation support for day‑to‑day operations and project execution, participating in a 24/7 on‑call rotation.

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on database management and administration experience.
• Deep technical expertise in SQL Server, with additional working knowledge of Oracle and Postgres.
• Experience supporting real‑time applications and large‑scale, multi‑terabyte databases.
• Strong experience with database data protection, Disaster Recovery design, high‑availability setups, and Oracle RAC administration.
• Strong scripting skills (Power Shell, Python, Perl) to automate deployments and support a “DB as Code” model.
• Practical knowledge of Windows, Linux, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
• Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with a collaborative team spirit.

• Prior experience in the Financial Capital Markets industry.
• Experience executing complex data migrations between differing platforms or dissimilar environments.

Salary Range: $110K–$120K per year CAD (guideline only; actual may vary).
