As a Database Engineer reporting to the Senior Manager of Clearing Technology Services, you will utilize your 5+ years of hands-on experience to resolve complex database issues and enhance application performance.
Your role involves extensive collaboration with engineering teams and enforcing standards for schema changes. You will also be accountable for disaster recovery, automated monitoring, and providing Level 2 operational support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as SQL Server Subject Matter Expert for complex issues
• Design and improve automated monitoring for database health
• Oversee routine backup audits and disaster recovery exercises
• Collaborate with Development Squads on schema deployment
• Provide escalation support in a 24/7 on-call rotation
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years in database management and administration
• Expertise in SQL Server, with knowledge in Oracle and Postgres
• Experience with multi-terabyte databases and real-time applications
• Strong scripting skills in Power Shell, Python, or Perl
• Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and cloud technologies
