Position: Senior AWS Infrastructure Architect to lead AWS low-level design and hybrid cloud architecture for a major SAP S/4HANA

Our energy and resources client is seeking a Senior AWS Infrastructure Architect
to lead AWS low-level design and hybrid cloud architecture for a major SAP S/4

HANA RISE transformation program.

This is a hands-on architecture role focused on designing AWS infrastructure, networking, and hybrid connectivity, and translating high-level requirements into implementation-ready designs. (note: SAP is a secondary domain used for integration context only.)

Duration: to March 31, , with a strong possibility of extension

Working Model:
Hybrid onsite within downtown Calgary (3 days onsite/ 2 days remote) - Remote candidates will be considered as a secondary.

Must Haves

8+ years AWS infrastructure architecture experience (hands-on, not advisory only)

Strong AWS networking design
: VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, DNS

Deep understanding of hybrid cloud and network security

Experience producing low-level designs (LLDs) and architecture diagrams

Ability to translate high-level architecture into build-ready designs

Linux and cloud infrastructure experience

Experience validating and challenging vendor / system integrator designs

AWS Solutions Architect – Professional (preferred)

Nice-to-Haves:

Kubernetes, containers, and Amazon EKS experience

SAP cloud ecosystem exposure (S/4

HANA RISE, SAP BTP, IAS, Integration Suite, Cloud ALM)

Experience integrating SAP workloads within AWS/hybrid environments

Key Responsibilities:

Design AWS and hybrid cloud architecture for SAP S/4

HANA transformation program

Define AWS networking and connectivity (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, DNS)

Produce low-level designs and architecture diagrams used for implementation

Translate business and solution requirements into technical architecture designs

Guide and support system integrators and engineering teams on AWS implementation

Validate and govern vendor and SI architecture outputs for compliance and quality

Ensure security, scalability, resilience, and operational readiness across environments

Support architecture for SAP sandbox and identity (IAS) environment setup

Provide technical leadership across AWS, SAP, and integration teams

Present and defend architecture decisions at governance and review boards
