DevOps Engineer

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Dev Ops Engineer to play a key role in the design, migration, and modernization of a cloud-native self-service platform on AWS. This is a hands‑on engineering position for someone who has deep infrastructure‑as‑code expertise, extensive AWS cloud migration experience, and a strong understanding of modern AI services within the AWS ecosystem.

The successful candidate will lead infrastructure automation, enable cloud adoption, and partner closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to migrate existing on‑premises workloads into AWS while establishing best practices for long‑term operational support.

This role requires an individual who is highly self‑directed, able to navigate a large enterprise environment, facilitate technical discussions across multiple teams, and mentor internal support teams throughout the cloud transformation journey.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure using Terraform as the primary Infrastructure‑as‑Code platform.
• Lead the migration of enterprise applications and infrastructure from on‑premises environments to AWS.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops automation to support rapid, reliable application delivery.
• Develop cloud architecture patterns that support a modern self‑service application platform.
• Implement and integrate AWS AI and ML services including Amazon Bedrock ,
  Amazon Sage Maker , and Amazon Bedrock Agent Core where appropriate.
• Partner with application development, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to plan and execute cloud migration activities.
• Facilitate technical workshops, architecture discussions, and planning sessions across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Establish cloud operational standards, automation practices, and deployment procedures.
• Mentor and train internal infrastructure and operations teams to transition support responsibilities from traditional on‑premises environments to AWS cloud operations.
• Produce technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Drive continuous improvement across cloud infrastructure, automation, monitoring, security, and operational excellence.

• 8+ years of Dev Ops, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering experience.
• Extensive hands‑on experience designing and administering AWS cloud environments.
• Expert‑level experience with Terraform in enterprise production environments.
• Proven experience leading on‑premises to AWS cloud migration initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of AWS networking, IAM, security, compute, storage, and container services.
• Hands‑on experience implementing solutions using:
• Amazon Bedrock
• Amazon Sage Maker
• Amazon Bedrock Agent Core
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using modern Dev Ops tooling including Github and Jenkins.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

• Experience developing or supporting customer‑facing self‑service platforms .
• Experience establishing cloud operational models and Dev Ops best practices.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, ECS, or EKS.
• Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
• AWS certifications are considered an asset.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and business units.
• Comfortable scheduling and facilitating technical working sessions, gathering requirements, and driving initiatives forward.
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Passion for mentoring, coaching, and enabling internal teams during cloud transformation initiatives.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive, delivery‑focused mindset.

• Experience with in large enterprise or regulated environments.
• Previous experience supporting digital transformation or cloud modernization programs.
• Experience enabling operational readiness and knowledge transfer following cloud migrations.
