Daily Responsibilities

The Content Designer sits within a 4-person squad (Interaction Designer, Visual Designer, Content Designer, and Design Researcher) and works daily with product owners, scrum masters, business analysts, developers, QA, and legal and compliance partners. At the Expert level, they lead content thinking within the squad, influence roadmap and prioritization from a content and clarity lens, and align many stakeholders around one voice and one content approach.

They mentor peers on writing and content strategy, elevate the team's craft, and act as a trusted content voice with senior partners and compliance.

What will you do?

As a content designer, you will have the opportunity to shape the conversations we conduct through each of our digital products. To do that, you need to think strategically about the creation and delivery of our content: what we say, how we say it, and where we deliver each piece of that message.

You’ll collaborate with colleagues in other disciplines to define the core value of the digital products we design and build. You’ll make sure that every experience – from the overtly promotional to the purely transactional – embodies its core value as our clients move through and engage with it. In short: you’ll use content to connect what our digital products can do with what truly matters to our clients.

What

program/technology/software knowledge is essential for this role?
  • Figma is the primary tool and will be used daily to write and design content in context, prototype flows, and contribute content patterns to the design system.
  • We also work in Mural for collaborative workshops and content mapping, Confluence for documentation, voice and tone guidelines, and terminology standards, Jira for Agile delivery with our dev teams, and Keynote for high-stakes stakeholder presentations.
  • We use Maze for usability and content comprehension testing.
  • At the Expert level, we expect deep fluency in Figma and enough comfort across the rest of the stack to lead workshops, drive delivery, present with impact, and help govern content standards.
Must-have

Skills:
  • Deep UX writing and content design expertise for native apps and responsive web, mobile-first
  • Strong content strategy and information architecture skills, with the judgment to set the standard for others
  • Proven plain-language and conversation design skills in regulated or complex domains, balancing clarity with legal and compliance accuracy
  • Experience shaping and scaling content within complex design systems (voice, tone, terminology, content patterns), not just working within them
  • Fluency in Lean UX and leading content work inside Agile dev teams
  • A post-secondary education, ideally with a university degree or college diploma
  • At least 4 years of writing experience at a creative agency or in-house creative team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about the challenge at hand
  • Proficiency in English
  • A portfolio of work samples showcasing your copywriting work
Nice-to-have

Skills:
  • Track record leading content across large teams and many stakeholders (Product, Business, Technical, Legal and Compliance)
  • Experience running or partnering on content-focused usability and comprehension testing
  • Advanced Figma skills for designing content in context and contributing to the design system
  • Financial services or other regulated-industry content experience
  • Facility in French
  • A working knowledge of accessibility standards and methods to address them
  • A knowledge of design and technology trends
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the presence to align senior and compliance stakeholders and hold a room.
  • A natural collaborator who works fluidly across designers and cross-functional partners and elevates the conversation rather than just contributing to it.
  • Skilled at managing stakeholders, building trust, and turning differing views, including legal and business needs, into one clear content direction.
  • Facilitating workshops is expected at this level, so the ability to design and lead sessions like content audits, message mapping, or terminology alignment that move a group to decisions is a strong asset.
