Hire Art is helping our client find an experienced Audio Visual (AV) Support Technician to join its Workplace Technology team.

In this role, you'll serve as the front line for conference room AV support, ensuring meeting spaces remain reliable and ready for use in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You'll perform daily room checks, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, support employees during meetings, and help install and configure new conference rooms from the ground up. You'll also provide occasional support for internal events under the direction of the events team.

As An Audio Visual (AV) Support Technician, You Will
  • Perform daily AV health checks across conference rooms to proactively identify and resolve issues before meetings begin.
  • Support employees using conference room AV systems, including Google Meet, displays, projectors, cameras, microphones, speakers, and conferencing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Google Meet room systems, Logitech Rally products, Neat Bar Pro systems, and Logitech room schedulers, resolving hardware, software, connectivity, firmware, and audio/video issues.
  • Respond to IT Helpdesk escalations, provide end-user training, and partner with internal teams to continuously improve the conference room experience.
  • Install, configure, and provision new conference rooms, including displays, cameras, room hardware, cabling, and low-voltage infrastructure.
  • Configure, calibrate, and maintain conference room audio systems, including DSPs, mixers, microphones, and speakers.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex end-to-end issues spanning AV hardware, software, networking, room scheduling, and conferencing platforms.
  • Document conference room configurations, signal-flow diagrams, equipment inventories, and standard operating procedures.
  • Track, order, and maintain AV and IT hardware inventory, spare equipment, and consumables.
  • Assist with AV setup, teardown, and onsite support for internal meetings, town halls, webinars, and company events under the direction of the events team.
  • Monitor conference room health using remote management tools and perform firmware and software updates.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors on AV procurement, installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
  • Create and maintain knowledge base articles, runbooks, and troubleshooting documentation in Confluence.
  • Stay current on conference room AV and unified communications technologies, recommending improvements to systems and processes.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in IT or AV support, with a focus on conference rooms and meeting-space technology
  • Hands-on experience with Logitech Rally products, including cameras, speakers, microphones, Rally Bar, and Rally Bar Mini
  • Experience supporting Neat Bar Pro or similar all-in-one video conferencing systems
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Logitech room schedulers
  • Strong experience troubleshooting Google Meet hardware and software in conference room environments
  • Demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot conference rooms from the ground up, including mounting, cabling, configuration, and testing
  • A positive, service-oriented approach with strong customer service skills
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm while supporting live meetings
  • Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing more than 50 pounds
  • Basic to intermediate networking knowledge, including servers, switches, Wi-Fi, and AV-over-IP fundamentals
  • Experience administering Apple devices using enterprise management tools
  • Experience supporting and managing Windows laptops and desktops
  • Experience using enterprise ticketing and workflow systems
  • Familiarity with common AV signal types and connectors, including HDMI, SDI, Dante, USB-C, and AV-over-IP
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support users across varying levels of technical experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • AVIXA CTS certification or active progress toward certification
  • Experience with conferencing systems such as Poly, Yealink, Crestron, or similar platforms
  • Experience configuring or programming Crestron, Extron, or Q-SYS control systems
  • Experience with audio DSP platforms such as Q-SYS, Biamp, or Extron
  • Ability to read and interpret AV signal-flow diagrams and schematics
  • Experience supporting live events
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience
Commitment

This is a full-time, 4-month contract position staffed via Hire Art. The role is onsite and available to candidates local to the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area.
