Infrastructure Engineer (Windows​/Linux

Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer – Windows/Linux Server Build & Decommission to support enterprise infrastructure operations through the provisioning, configuration, deployment, maintenance, and retirement of Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in server lifecycle management, security hardening, patching, compliance, and coordination across infrastructure and application teams.

Build and configure Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 systems.

Build and configure Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7, 8, and 9 systems.

Configure server networking, DNS, NTP, storage, and operating system settings.

Perform Active Directory domain joins and organizational unit placement.

Register Linux servers with Red Hat Satellite.

Install and configure required infrastructure, security, backup, and monitoring agents.

Apply operating system updates and security patches.

Implement enterprise security hardening standards.

Coordinate server deployment activities with application, network, and infrastructure teams.

Perform post-build validation and operational readiness testing.

Execute Windows template patching activities during Microsoft Patch Tuesday cycles.

Support DMZ server builds and firewall request submissions.

Execute approved server decommission activities in accordance with established procedures.

Coordinate with application owners and stakeholders to confirm retirement readiness.

Verify backup retention and recovery requirements prior to server retirement.

Remove systems from Active Directory, DNS, SCCM, SCOM, backup platforms, monitoring solutions, and Red Hat Satellite.

Perform infrastructure and application dependency validation during decommissioning activities.

Update inventory records, CMDB, and operational documentation.

Support secure server retirement and disposal processes.

Ensure all decommission activities meet audit, security, and compliance requirements.

Hands-on experience building and administering Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments.

Experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7, 8, and 9 servers.

Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, NTP, storage management, and enterprise server infrastructure.

Experience with operating system patching, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation.

Experience with server decommissioning, lifecycle management, and CMDB updates.

Experience with Red Hat Satellite administration and Linux server registration.

Familiarity with SCCM, SCOM, monitoring platforms, and enterprise backup solutions.

Experience provisioning and managing virtual machines in VMware ESXi/vCenter environments.

Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.

Experience with Cyber Ark Privileged Access Management (PAM).

Proficiency in Power Shell, Bash, or other scripting languages.

Knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR) processes and testing.

Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks and security compliance frameworks.

Experience supporting infrastructure within banking, financial services, or other regulated industries.

Experience supporting audit and compliance remediation initiatives.
