Aquent is partnering with a large, well-known Canadian retailer to hire a Digital Asset Management Specialist to provide short-term support within its eCommerce Operations team. This hands-on contract role is focused on processing and tagging digital assets, validating AI-generated metadata, and helping ensure product imagery moves accurately and efficiently through established digital workflows.
This is a great opportunity for someone with practical DAM and metadata experience who enjoys detail-oriented work, can manage a high volume of assets, and is interested in gaining exposure to emerging AI-powered content processes within a large-scale eCommerce environment.
What You'll Do- Process digital assets across multiple retail brands using established Digital Asset Management workflows.
- Apply, review, and update metadata and asset tags according to established processes.
- Review AI-generated metadata and validate that image attributes and classifications are accurate.
- Manually correct metadata when automated tagging requires adjustment.
- Move validated assets through established workflows for downstream digital and eCommerce use.
- Manage assigned asset requests and complete work within established service-level timelines.
- Monitor and respond to assigned requests from a shared team inbox.
- Troubleshoot asset and metadata issues and communicate with internal partners when clarification is needed.
- Perform quality checks to ensure digital assets are accurately categorized and processed.
- Collaborate with eCommerce, merchandising, marketing, product content, vendors, and other internal partners.
- Learn and work within client-specific DAM and content systems.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience working in a Digital Asset Management environment or closely related digital content environment.
- Practical experience tagging digital assets and applying, updating, or validating metadata.
- Experience working with digital imagery and an understanding of common digital asset types.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while processing a high volume of work.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
- Proactive communication style—you are comfortable asking questions or raising issues when something is unclear.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently manage assigned work once trained.
- Experience with AI-assisted or automated metadata tagging.
- eCommerce, retail, product content, or digital catalog experience.
- Experience with taxonomy or structured product/content data.
- Experience performing metadata or digital asset quality assurance.
- Experience supporting high-volume enterprise content or asset workflows.
