Data Security Specialist

Position: Data Security Specialist at Sun Life
Empower clients through innovative data protection as a Data Security Specialist at Sun Life. This hybrid role focuses on defining strategies to mitigate cybersecurity threats and ensure data integrity.

Reporting to the Director of Database Security, you will shape data protection strategies and act as a key player in developing enterprise-wide initiatives. You'll work to build relationships, investigate security incidents, and ensure robust data management practices are in place. Your expertise will drive compliance and enhance the organization's cybersecurity posture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop strong relationships with business and technology partners

• Investigate complex cybersecurity incidents for senior leadership

• Identify security risks and recommend solutions

• Address anomalies thoroughly through documentation

• Design innovative insider threat detection solutions

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years in security or IT roles

• 3 years developing Data Protection/DLP policies

• Knowledgeable in cybersecurity policies and controls

• Experience with Data Protection tools and technologies

• Programming skills, preferably in Python
