Our valued public sector client is hiring a Senior Azure Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain Azure-based data pipelines and Medallion Architecture data solutions supporting the ingestion, transformation, and analytics of SAP enterprise data.

Background

The organization is modernizing its enterprise data platform by implementing an Azure-based Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers) to support the future migration, transformation, and analysis of SAP Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain, and Enterprise Asset Management data. The Senior Azure Data Engineer will design, develop, and maintain Azure data pipelines, transformation processes, and cloud-based data solutions within Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake Storage.

Job Tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain Azure-based data engineering solutions supporting a Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers).
• Build and manage Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Synapse pipelines to ingest, transform, and curate enterprise data within Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS).
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to support scalable and reliable data movement and transformation.
• Create and maintain Bronze and Silver layer datasets through data cleansing, standardization, and transformation activities.
• Develop data models and curated datasets to support reporting, analytics, and operational requirements.
• Optimize data pipeline performance, storage structures, and query execution within Azure Synapse environments.
• Implement data quality controls, monitoring, and validation processes to ensure data integrity.
• Support source control, testing, deployment, and promotion of code across cloud environments using Data Ops and CI/CD practices.
• Implement metadata, lineage, and governance capabilities using Microsoft Purview.
• Collaborate with SAP, cloud, and analytics teams to support data onboarding, validation, and platform enhancements.
