Technical Lead in Systems and Security

Take the lead in Systems and Security at the University of Toronto’s Citizen Lab. Drive innovation in IT security and technical oversight to strengthen data protection and system integrity.

As the Systems and Security Technical Lead, you will report to the Director of Administration and collaborate closely with the Chief Information Security & Digital Trust Officer.

Your role encompasses overseeing IT security measures, managing an interdisciplinary team, and mitigating risks to information and data. This position combines robust technical expertise and leadership, requiring deep knowledge in security methodologies and system management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and staff supervision

• Manage integration of security practices within IT

• Conduct audits for regulatory compliance

• Administer enterprise-level Linux server applications

• Develop and execute automation and security protocols

Requirements:

• Six years in IT, with two in Information Security

• IT Security certifications preferred or in progress

• Expertise in Linux and client-server technologies

• Strong scripting skills in Shell and Python

• Experience with cloud platforms and intrusion prevention
