Senior Business Systems Analyst, Service Now ITAM

Apex Systems is hiring a Senior Business Systems Analyst with strong Service Now IT Asset Management (ITAM) experience to support a major financial services organization.

Contract: 6 months, with potential for extension in 6-month increments

Location: Toronto, ON, Hybrid

Onsite: Tuesdays plus the second Friday of each month. Onsite requirements may change based on business needs.

Senior ITAM Governance Analyst / Business Systems Analyst

This individual must:

Have certifications with Service Now ITAM (HAM and SAM) and CMDB, plus general SN platform experience

Have actively been a part of a mutli-phased Service Now ITAM Implementation for HAM and or SAM

Be fully familiar with all HAM and SAM modules, processes and workflows

Understand the SN Architecture of SN ITAM

Is experienced with SN documentation and official processes for ITAM (HAM/SAM) and has documented processes and guides/SOPS for ITAM in the past

Position Overview

The Senior ITAM Governance Analyst / Business Systems Analyst will support the continued maturity of the IT Asset Management (ITAM) program through governance, controls, asset lifecycle management, and Service Now ITAM initiatives. This role combines ITAM governance expertise with business systems analysis responsibilities, including requirements gathering, process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and control documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Support ITAM governance frameworks, policies, standards, and controls

Gather and document business requirements, process maps, and functional requirements

Analyze and improve Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) processes

Support asset lifecycle governance, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and retirement

Monitor End-of-Life (EOL) and End-of-Support (EOS) risks and remediation activities

Support IT general controls, compliance initiatives, and audit requirements

Partner with technology, risk, audit, and business stakeholders to identify gaps and drive process improvements

Support Service Now ITAM initiatives, including HAM, SAM, and CMDB

Develop reporting, dashboards, and executive-level presentations

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or ITAM Analyst

Strong experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM)

Experience with Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and/or Software Asset Management (SAM)

Experience gathering business requirements and documenting processes

Knowledge of IT governance, risk management, compliance, and IT general controls

Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management

Experience with Service Now ITAM, HAM, SAM, and/or CMDB

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills

Advanced Excel and reporting experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with in financial services or other regulated environments

Experience supporting ITAM maturity or transformation initiatives

Exposure to EOL/EOS governance

ITIL and/or IAITAM certification

Experience supporting audits and regulatory reviews

Certifications are:

Certified System Administrator (CSA)

Certified Implementation Specialist – Software Asset Management (CIS-SAM):

Certified Implementation Specialist – Hardware Asset Management (CIS-HAM):

Micro-Certification – Asset Models Management

Apex pay scales are determined by role, experience, skill set, and location. For this new position, the estimated hourly range is provided below as a guideline; however, total compensation may vary based on individual circumstances.
