Salary range (but not limited to): 94,

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance): 12% and potential follow‑on up to double the target.

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35‑hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. We’re looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our growing Technology team!

This position is open to candidates in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.

• Leverage the deep expertise and resources of a top specialty insurer toward being a market leader in a dynamic product segment.
• Grow and manage a profitable book of business by leveraging business relationships, product knowledge and underwriting acumen. Maintain underwriting quality and book management, which includes: executing underwriting strategy, adhering to underwriting standards and guidelines, self‑auditing new and renewal business and ensuring compliance with underwriting standards and authorities.
• Develop and maintain superior working relationships with our broker network to successfully achieve mutual growth and profitability goals, while providing a high level of service and product expertise. Identify gaps in coverage and/or services to create mutual opportunities with broker partners.
• Participate in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events, travel as necessary and remain highly visible in marketplace.
• Provide ongoing support in expanding the department, and make recommendations for process improvements.
• Provide guidance and technical advice to underwriters and underwriting assistants, mentor and coach junior team members, support team members within Specialty Solutions as well as other divisions at Intact.

• University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years of Commercial Underwriting experience with E&O and Cyber Underwriting experience being an asset.
