Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

We’re looking for a
** Senior Underwriter, Specialty Solutions**, to join our growing team!

As a
** Senior Underwriter in our Specialty Lines Liability** (large account) department, you will play an important role in growing the Specialty Liability business segment. Our team will count on you to make effective business decisions to achieve premium growth goals and maintain strong retention levels through your positive relationships with our distribution network. In this role, you will analyze, select, and price Liability business working within Intact guidelines and pricing.
** What you’ll do here:
*** Accept, reject, endorse, renew or cancel policies following Intact underwriting guidelines and procedures, applicable laws and regulations and subject to authority level as specified by underwriting manager.
* Develop business opportunities and long-term meaningful relationships with our broker partners by providing legendary service.
* Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company.
* Answer inquiries and make recommendations to brokers and underwriters through verbal and written correspondence.
* Participate in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events in support of broker relationship development.
* Review underwriting reports and make recommendations as required.
* Communicate changes related to product pricing, underwriting guidelines and new products.
* Support and mentor team members within Specialty Solutions as well as other divisions at Intact.
** What you bring to the table:
*** Minimum 5 years of progressive underwriting experience in large commercial liability or Specialty lines
* Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or FCIP designation preferred
* Technical knowledge of commercial Liability policy wordings for large commercial Property Liability customers
* Strong communication skills and ability to foster and maintain effective professional relationships at all levels of the organization
