Zurich Canada Technical Underwriting is looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our growing Commercial Business unit. Reporting to VP & Actuarial Director, you will play a key role in shaping pricing and portfolio strategies across Zurich Canada's Commercial Insurance business. You will work closely with underwriting, technical underwriting, and global pricing experts to deliver data-driven insights that influence business decisions and support profitable growth.

This is a hybrid work opportunity where the role can be based in a Zurich Canada office (including Toronto, Kitchener / Waterloo, Montreal). Zurich hybrid work model requiring three days per week of in-person presence, which may include time in the office or market-facing engagements.

What you will do

Develop pricing insights and recommendations that support profitable growth across Zurich Canada's Commercial Insurance portfolios.

Analyze portfolio performance, identify emerging trends, and help drive portfolio management strategies.

Build, enhance, and maintain actuarial pricing models, rating structures, and analytical tools.

Partner with underwriters and technical underwriting teams to deliver pricing solutions for new and renewal business.

Support strategic initiatives including pricing transformation, segmentation, and modernization of underwriting capabilities.

Translate analytical findings into actionable business recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Collaborate with global actuarial teams to share best practices and leverage leading pricing techniques and methodologies.

Contribute to pricing governance, model documentation, and compliance with organizational standards.

Ensure the implementation of required governance processes, maintaining compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

Job Qualifications – What you bring to the table

Required:

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics / Statistics / Actuarial Sciences or other technical degree

Progress toward ACAS designation (typically 5+ exams completed) or equivalent actuarial qualification recognized by the CIA.

3 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area
