Claims Manager; Freight & OS&D

An established transportation and logistics organization is seeking a Claims Specialist (Freight Claims & OS&D) to take ownership of freight claims within a high-volume LTL environment.

This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on experience managing freight claims from initial notification through resolution, including OS&D investigations, liability assessment, documentation, and claim settlements.

• Manage the end-to-end freight claims process, including damage, shortage, overage, loss, and other OS&D matters
• Investigate claims by reviewing BOLs, PODs, photos, shipment records, and other supporting documentation
• Assess liability and carrier responsibility and coordinate claim resolution with customers, carriers, terminals, and insurance providers
• Manage claim documentation, follow‑up, settlements and disputes
• Track claims activity, identify trends, and work with Operations to reduce recurring freight issues
• Maintain accurate claim records and reporting in accordance with company policies and transportation requirements

• 3+ years of experience in freight claims, cargo claims, OS&D, transportation operations, or LTL logistics
• Direct, hands‑on experience owning freight claims from investigation through resolution
• Strong OS&D experience, including damaged, missing, short, and over freight
• Understanding of carrier liability, cargo insurance, claims procedures, and freight documentation
• Strong investigative, analytical, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple claims in a fast‑paced, high‑volume transportation environment
• Experience with an LTL carrier, transportation company, or 3PL strongly preferred
