Senior Specialist in Financial Lines Underwriting

Aviva Canada is seeking a Senior Specialist in Financial Lines Underwriting to manage key products and support profitable growth.

This role offers a blend of expert underwriting and broker collaboration in a hybrid work environment.

In this position, you will handle underwriting for Directors & Officers, EPL, and other Financial Lines products. With over a decade of experience, you'll analyze risks and guide strategic underwriting decisions while maintaining compliance. Building relationships with brokers will be integral to strengthening Aviva’s market position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage underwriting of complex new business transactions

• Analyze industry trends and risk factors in decision-making

• Lead discussions and negotiations with brokers

• Provide insights for product development and market strategy

• Ensure adherence to governance and compliance standards

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in Financial Lines underwriting

• Excellent negotiation and presentation skills

• High detail orientation and analytical skills

• Relevant degree in business or finance

• Ability to mentor junior underwriters and share best practices
