Freelance Interpreter (English/Indonesian)
As a remote interpreter, you play a significant role in facilitating communication between INDONESIAN and English speakers. The interpreter must process information quickly and accurately in a professional manner, ensuring a quiet and secure environment. Useful tools include notepads, writing utensils, glossaries, and dictionaries.
ResponsibilitiesInterpretation duties include real‑time communication facilitation, accurate note‑taking, rendering correct concepts according to established interpretation protocols, and explaining cultural concepts when requested.
Candidate Qualifications- Fluency in English and INDONESIAN
- Minimum 1 year interpretation experience preferred but not required
- Excellent listening, retention, and note‑taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Ability to render correct concepts and meanings according to the conventions of established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions
- Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with permission or at the request of the client
- Computer or Laptop
- Windows 10 or higher
- USB Wired headset
- Steady wired internet connection
- Remote position, interpreter works from their home office
