We are seeking a full‑time, contract (12 months) Communication Coordinator (Translator and Interpreter). The Communications Coordinator ensures our systems, toolkits, and operational resources are accessible to French‑speaking stakeholders and hubs.

  Translating complex IYS frameworks and resources into clear, plain‑language French for provincial partners.

  Ensuring that operational guidelines and collaborative care models remain consistent and accurate across both official languages.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  Supporting the national exchange of best practices by removing language barriers within the IYS network.

Nous sommes à la recherche d’une coordonnatrice/d’un coordonnateur en communication (traductrice/traducteur et interprète) sur une base contractuelle à temps plein (12 mois). Cette personne sera chargée de veiller à ce que nos systèmes, nos trousses d’outils et nos ressources opérationnelles soient accessibles en français aux intervenants et aux carrefours.

Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Communications Coordinator translates from English to French; sources and coordinates all freelance translation work; revises and proofreads all documents (communications materials, publications, forms, letters, bulletins, etc.); provides consecutive interpretation for meetings and events; and is the liaison with program and communications team members for follow‑up of all French material. The Communications Coordinator works closely with CAMH French Translation Coordinator on matters relating to the application of established translation guidelines and procedures;

maintains and updates a lexicon of official terminology; shares the lexicon with freelance translators and other regional translation services; attends professional development functions, and identifies and communicates learning needs.

Sous la direction de la gestionnaire des communications, la personne retenue traduira des documents de l’anglais au français, enverra des textes à traduire à des pigistes et coordonnera le travail de traduction; elle révisera tous les documents traduits (matériel de communication, publications, formulaires, lettres, bulletins, etc.) et fera la lecture d’épreuves; elle assurera en outre l’interprétation simultanée lors de réunions et d’événements.

Bilingualism in French and English is required, as well as a bachelor’s degree in translation. You will have extensive experience in translation, consecutive interpretation and editing. Knowledge of mental health and addiction terminology is an asset. In addition, proven skills in supervision or management in order to coordinate the work of freelance translators are required as is the ability to set priorities, work to strict deadlines and juggle a demanding workload.

Superior oral and written skills in French and English are mandatory. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and the ability and willingness to learn and use new computer programs is required.
