Position: Bilingual Interpreter for Legislative Office
Contribute to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a bilingual interpreter, facilitating communication during debates and committee proceedings in English and French. This role emphasizes teamwork and linguistic accuracy.

We are seeking an experienced interpreter to provide high-quality simultaneous interpretation while reporting to the Language Services Manager. In this position, you will navigate the complexities of parliamentary discussions with precision, collaborate closely with a dedicated language services team, and maintain the integrity of legislative terminology. Your quick thinking and diplomatic skills will be critical in this dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret debates and press conferences simultaneously

• Maintain professionalism and diplomacy in all interactions

• Collaborate with Language Services team for development opportunities

• Translate materials between English and French as required

• Ensure accuracy in legislative terminology used in discourse

Requirements:

• Degree in interpretation or significant relevant experience

• Excellent oral and written skills in French and English

• Ability to perform under pressure and work flexible shifts

• Comprehensive knowledge of parliamentary processes

• Proficiency in basic computer applications
