Impact the Law Society of Ontario’s communications as a Legal Translator. This position focuses on translating critical materials into French for enhanced public understanding.
As a Legal Translator, you will provide essential translation services for a variety of legal and corporate documents. You will prioritize tasks based on urgency while ensuring high standards of accuracy and clarity. Familiarity with legal terminology and strong analytical skills will be essential in delivering translations that meet organizational needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Translate corporate and public-facing documents accurately
• Assess and prioritize translation requests for timely delivery
• Engage with internal clients to clarify specific requirements
• Maintain and update terminology databases and glossaries
• Ensure adherence to translation principles and standards
Requirements:
• Minimum 3‑year Bachelor’s Degree in Translation
• At least 3-4 years of related translation experience
• Proficient in French grammar and legal references
• Experience with translation memory software is a plus
• Legal translation experience strongly preferred
